5 things I wish I learned in college
There are so many things that you don't learn about "the real world" while you are in school. Here are some things I wish I had learned the importance of while I was still in college (or even earlier):
- Communicating (both writing and public speaking skills)
- Networking
- Finding (and being) a mentor
- Volunteering
- Stretching my skills
Learning these early on would have saved me so much time, effort, and struggles in my career (though I am exceedingly happy with where I am at now). As a result, I try to share them with everyone I come in contact with. What are some things you wished you learned in school before getting into your career?
